UGC NET Political Science — Paper 2, subject code 02

All ten units are written, in 19 chapters: one each for Units 2 and 3 (Political Thought and Indian Political Thought are bare name-lists in the official document, like Education’s own Unit 1), three for Unit 7 (Political Institutions in India, this syllabus’s most sub-item-dense unit), and two for every other unit. Every chapter was written from this NET syllabus’s own wording and structure, not from this platform’s UPSC or BPSC polity chapters — the caution this note used to carry was raised before anything existed here to check it against, and it is now answered directly: the two thinker-list units are framed as political THOUGHT, each thinker’s ideas and place in a tradition, not a civics recap; the institutions unit draws its emphasis (asymmetrical federalism, the basic structure doctrine, the collegium-NJAC dispute, formalism in Riggs’s prismatic-society sense) from NET’s own document rather than from any other course’s framing. The subject is complete against its own syllabus, which is what lets it carry a Paper-II pattern of its own in mockPatterns.
